A Blazer Jacket is to be a perennial of a wardrobe. It can be black. Button covers are to be acquired for buttons on your blazer. A jacket is to be worn as soon as it is expected.
A sport coat can say, "I am older than you believe." Each is to be
1. Conservative in color.
2. It can be in a pattern, and double vented.
A jacket with a strong pattern is to be worn with a shirt with a weaker one and vice versa. A solid shirt that matches the lighter color in the pattern can be worn along with solid pants that pick up a darker color. When buying a shirt, take the jacket or a piece of fabric cut from it to ensure a match.
Each jacket is to be brushed off prior to putting it on and after taking it off.
A jacket is to have two or three buttons. It can have four or more for social day or night. It may have seven buttons for cultural requirements or for when you are a member of the NBA.
The string tacked to hold the jacket vents together and the stitching used to keep the pockets closed are to be removed prior to placing a jacket in service. A stitched together vent could prompt someone to ask, “New Jacket:” to think that it is new to you or that you are new to a jacket.
A sport jacket can be loose enough so that it fits with the shirts and sweaters selected to be worn under it.
A jacket is to be worn, unless approval to take it off is granted by the senior person, or by the consensus of men, in your company. It can be taken off when all others in the group are in shirtsleeves. It may be hung up or placed on the back of your chair. It could be put back on the moment a senior person, or a private citizen, comes into a room or office.
A jacket might be worn by a man to his own dinner table. The decision to wear a jacket at table is the right of a hostess and a wife.
The bottom of a jacket is to flow naturally when a person is sitting down. (Pretend sitting on it does not matter.)
